Who we are
Born of Cape Breton’s deep musical traditions and raised on the rhythm of the Island, this trio brings a tidal wave of sound.
A great new combination - Kyle is the fiddle player, James plays guitar and Jason is our piano player and the musician with his own composition on our EP, a beautiful slow piece.
Our EP delivers a wide range of sounds in a compact trio form. The style is led by the natural Cape Breton fiddle sound rooted in Gaelic language rhythm and authenticity. Guitar solo tunes within tracks, violin harmonies, and dazzling piano accompany and accent Kyle’s traditionally rooted style of playing and arranging. Tracks break out of this format and establish the guitar and piano as legitimate melodic voices in the group. In particular, tracks like “Scoobies” (guitar) and “I Think This Is Flowers” (piano) demonstrate the versatility of their live performances.
Kyle, James and Jason are all proud independent recipients of the Big Sampie Award (formerly the Celtic Colours Driver’s Award), a nod to their dedication, drive, and diversity that keeps the music alive. The group inherently has an in-depth connection with Lakewind Sound Studios, Fred, Gordie, and Mike.
Good Crowd covered Cape Breton Island during the Summer of 2025 playing some of the islands biggest stages and securing spots upcoming in 2026.
Together, they’re not just playing tunes—they’re crafting a sound that is rooted deeply with you, dances along with you, and stays with you.
